Storing Reports

This is not a question about the PowerChurch program; but what to do with all the reports I create with PowerChurch.
I keep permanent reports in binders.
Everthing else, payroll, invoices, offerings are boxed by group.
Everything, my 10 years + 10 prior to me (including records from a daycare they operated for a while), is stored in the attic.
I have not been in the attic until this morning.
My boxes are disintegrating & have insulation in them.
We want to clean it up. "They" want to just throw everything away that is older than 7 years old. I know we have to keep payroll and reports permanently.
What does everyone do with all their paperwork? Where is it stored?
