Is there a walkthrough on how to do this? We have both installed and are currently using version 9 but want to upgrade to 10. I am new to PChurch and don't have a lot of info on the software available.

Teresa,

Uninstall V10 and remove the V10 directory completely then reinstall V10. I don't remember if it asks you if there is an older version or it actually finds the older version, but then just follow the on screen directions and it will convert all of you existing V9 files. Make sure that you remove the desktop icon for V9 after the new installation so you do not enter data by mistake into the wrong version. Your V9 program and data will remain in tact.

I'm not sure if Tom misunderstood, or I'm misunderstanding.

My understanding is: you currently have version 9 installed, and you want to upgrade to version 10, which is not installed.

This should not be a problem, all you need to do is obtain the program from Powerchurch, insert the CD in your computer, then follow the prompts.

The setup program will guide you through the install, and (I believe) asks you if this is an upgrade. When you say yes, the program will search for other versions of Powerchurch, and will find your v9 data.

It will automatically update the database with the new tables and requirements, you have nothing else to do.

I agree with Tom, once its installed delete the Version 9 icon from the desktop so you do not use the wrong version.

If you have Powerchurch networked, you will need to share the directory across the network, then map the directory on any networked computer.

All the procedures are listed in this article: http://www.powerchurch.com/support/answ ... icle_id=33

Hope this helps
