Merging Account and membership data
We are just starting out with PCS and want to have someone setup the accounting portion while another person sets up membership & contribution data on a separate computer. Then we would like to bring the two together at the church on a single computer and begin using it there. Is something like this possible?

It's possible, however, in order to properly setup the Contribution Funds so they post to the proper Funds Accounting accounts, when you setup the Contribution Funds, do not select any accounts to post transactions to.tfloryanzia wrote:We are just starting out with PCS and want to have someone setup the accounting portion while another person sets up membership & contribution data on a separate computer. Also understand, all backups referred to below are done using the built-in backup utility. This is very important as it insures that the proper files are backed up.
Then do the following:
1. If at all possible, do the Membership/Contribution setup on the computer at church, if not possible, then do a full backup of files from the setup computer, and then restore it to the church computer.
2. On the machine that is doing the accounting setup, when finished, do a backup of Funds Accounting only. Restore this backup to the church computer, then enter the Contributions module and using the Maintain List of Contribution Funds function, add the correct Funds Accounting accounts to each Contribution Fund. Then all you have to do to show income to Funds Accounting is to post the contributions. The proper Funds Accounting transactions will then be created when treasurer does the Funds Accounting post transactions function.
Hope this helps.
