...hey guys. I'm helping out at our church, and told the office I would look into this for them. I think they are getting this error when printing and bunch of documents at one back to back. Doesn't seem to be a problem is they are just printing one document. Anyway, here is the info I have...
Error: 1705
method: set_tablename
Line 75
Message:File access denied
c:document~1\barbara\local~1\temp\...Olegbb.dbf
Someone in the office said they talked to a powerchurch support person on the phone and said they need to "Turn Delayed Write Off". If this looks like it makes sense to anyone, give me a shout back. I'm a computer guy, but am new to power church. Any info appreciated...thanx...

Are you on the latest MR? What Version of PowerChurch?
This file is on the local machine. It can be one of several causes:
Write Cache is enabled
Anti-Virus programs ( we request you add filters for the the file extensions DBF, CDX, FPT, and PCA)
Desktop indexing programs (Vista, Google Desktop, etc...)
There could be other reasons, these are the more common reasons.

MR = Maintenance Release.
I'm asking what the date of your program is. You'll find this in PowerChurch under the Help menu on the About option. Click on the System Information tab ( about the middle of the screen that opens).

This particular process will be affected by both the WriteCache setting being ON, and Anti-Virus programs.
Sometimes processes on the workstation can cause the anti-virus program to process files slower than normal. When this happens, you will see this type of problem.

...cool! No my first option would be adding an exception in the AV software for .dbf files? If that does not fix the problem would turing the write cache setting "Off" be the right move? If so, where I change the setting?

yes, the first option is to turn off the A/V for those 4 file extensions.
The WriteCache setting is in the Disk Management tool. The easiest way to get to the setting is to left click the Start button and select Run.... Type diskmgmt.msc. (This window can also be found in the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management.) Then Right click the Disk # (gray area on the lower panel). You'll than select the Properties. The window that appears, you'll select the Policies tab.

...thanx Tracy, should I change these settings on the "Server" or "Client" workstation or both?

The particular problem you are having is on the local workstation.
The way PowerChurch uses the data files, when the Server has WriteCache being ON, you may see data corruption. This happens when the server has a usage spike. A spike can occur when multiple workstations have the anti-virus set to scan network drives.
We recommend you set the Anti-virus programs on all systems involved. The WriteCache should be OFF on the server, and sometimes workstations when there is heavy usage of the system by other programs.

...thanx Tracy...that all makes sense. There only 2 computers in with setup, so I don't think theres alot of network traffic bouncing around. I should be able to make these changes tomorrow, so I'll post back my results...thanx!

...hey Tracy, I turned the write cache off on the server, and that seemed to fix the problem. Thanx so much for the help!
