Hi,
as we bought new computer we were trying to restore restore files from PC 8.5 to PC 14.4 but was all the time getting message that files from older version (8.5) cannot be restored.
Also we had tried to restored files on the new computer from PC8.5 to PC8.5. However, in this case it was asking to insert disk into F drive. We went and renamed drive were we have flashdrive to be named F, but in this case software was complaining that NO BACKUP FILES WERE FOUND.
Please advise how we can successfully restore files from PC8.5 version to PC8.5 or to PC 14.4 version.
Thank you
Vol

I don't believe you can do a 'restore' from versions earlier than v10.x. Have you tried to install v14 on the old computer, and doing an upgrade and 'conversion' of the old database. If this works, you can then do a Powerchurch backup from v14, and install it on the new computer.

Here's a knowledgebase article that should assist you;

https://www.powerchurch.com/support/428 ... s-upgrades

Please come back here and let us know how it went. If this doesn't work, you may have to contact Powerchurch directly for assistance. They may have to ask you to send them the v8 database for them to convert to v14. However, try doing it yourself first.

However, you're saying that v8 is not finding any backup files. Did you rename the backup .ZIP file to something else? Powerchurch expects a certain naming convention on its files, which may be why its not finding the backup. Frankly, I would do everything on the old computer where the original v8 files are located, and install v14 and do the conversion there.

Remember, any Powerchurch upgrade will NOT overwrite the older version's data as long as you accept the default locations recommended by the Powerchurch installer.
