I have a network using XP home desktops, connecting server to client using SMC router then Linksys wireless to reach balcony in sanctuary. From the balcony computer, I can see the server, open powerchurch directory and select pcplus11 install. At this point the install continues to fail.
I have 5 other desktops hardwired into the network all will connect and run pcplus 11
Thanks for any help

What is your signal strength ?? Sometimes a wireless signal does not give enough throughput for the file to move through the networDan Kent wrote:I have a network using XP home desktops, connecting server to client using SMC router then Linksys wireless to reach balcony in sanctuary. I take it that the server's \Powerchurch\PCPLUS11 directory is shared throughout the network, and that you mapped that directory to a drive letter on this machine??
Now you said you're selecting pcplus11 install, I do hope you mean netsetup11.exe from the server's \Powerchurch\PCPLUS11\Install directory.
FWIW ... we have the pastor's laptop networked to the server over a wireless network, even the server computer is wirelessly connected, and while the signal at the laptop is less than 80%, there is no problem with any lag when the program is accessing the database.

Re: pcplus11 install fails
Yes, it is netsetup11, and wireless is runing at 4 of 5 bars so I guess that is about 80%. When I click on the setup app, there is a hesitation, then it fails to run.

I am using a wireless amplifier to get the signal strength up to 80%, I don't think the reverse feed, is the same strength, i will check this out Monday morning.
