We have powerchurch ver 11. We are 2 users... We take turns using it. Also, we use it using winxp remote access.
Someone tells me, we can both be working at the same time with ver 11. Is it true?
Thank you

Are you accessing the same machine through remote access?? If so, I'm not sure that you can.

Yes. I am accessing the same machine with remote access. Both working in the same directory of powerchurch but with different modules

If you were accessing two separate machines on the network at the same time, then there would not be a problem, however, you're trying to access the same machine at once. I'm not sure you can do that with remote access since I believe its not like Citrix or Windows Terminal Service which create separate desktops.

We're using winxp remote access. with 2 different users, it's like 2 diff desktops. apparently, there's a way to have 2 diff users access the same pc with winxp.
i am just wondering if powerchurch will accept the same application to be opened by 2 different users

But are you accessing it at the SAME time ?? That's the issue. If not, you shouldn't have a problem, if so, well I would test it to find out for sure, but I believe you would probably have a file access problem.

If you have separate desktops for each user, it should work. It would be like opening the program twice on the same computer.

I'd be worried about multiple updates, but then the database engine can probably handle that as it handles networked access, right ??

The multiple updates would be handled just as if it was networked. We test the conflict resolution code by starting 2 copies of PowerChurch on the same machine and make changes in both copies to the same record.
