How can I tell which MR is installed?

I have just downloaded and installed the most current Maintenance Release for PC9.

When the splash screen comes up, or in HELP> About, is there any indication which version and/or maintenance release is running?

(I am after a click/button solution, instead of walking our church secretary through checking a PC file version and then verifying that on your website).

Is there a simple solution for our church folks to check, just to let me know when they need me to load a new set of fixes?

Thanks!

In PCPLUS 7 and later you can go to Help and About PowerChurch Plus. The system information tab will tell you the MR date you have running. Also on the help menu of version 9 we put a direct link to the MR page so you can see what the latest version is posted on the website.

Within PC9, is there a way to tell which MR is running on PC

Is there a way within PowerChurch that you can see which maintanance release you are running ON THAT PC? Like in earlier versions?

Just go to help -> about PowerChurch Plus. The date of the MR running on the local machine will be in the system information tab.

The file version 8.5.195.0 is not shown anywhere, nor is the file creation date (09/09/2004 09:09:51pm).

All that is shown is when the MR was APPLIED (which won't match any of the dates /etc in the PowerChurch site).

Is the PCPlus9.exe program version or creation date shown for a user anywhere? Couldn't it be?

Thanks-Gary

PC+ doesn't use a program file version number or creation date. it uses the date the developer sets as the release date. The program itself will show you the latest version installed at the ABOUT screen. If you installed the latest maintenance release, it should now read 11/09/2004 on the About Screen. I don't beleive that this has changed for as long as I've been using PC+ : version 7.

That shows you have the latest version when you cross reference against the www.powerchurch.com/mr page.

Each PC, unless you're running them all stand alone, should reflect what the 'server' machine is running. If I remember right, the netsetup.exe program does not create a local directory. It may add additional MS components to the system directories, but that's about all.

NeilZ does remember correctly. Netsetup does not create any directory on the client, all files are housed on the server. The only things copied over to the client are system files needed locally to run reports, backups, etc.
