Pass Through Contributions

I am a new user to PowerChurch. In my training by the former secretary, I was instructed to enter love offerings through the contribution module, then post a manual check. We have never entered a "deposit" for the contributions, but in referencing the manual and online help, it appears that we should enter one transaction in the Fund Accounting module, Enter Transactions. Which is correct, if either? And if it is entered in the Fund Accounting module, then how do we give credit to church members for their contribution? Thanks for your assistance!

Sorry, but I am a bit more elementary than that. I need to know where you are posting the deposit. In the Contribution Modulue or the Fund Accounting/Enter Transaction Module? All the examples given show one deposit and one check, but we have multiple deposits and one check? Thank you for helping me!

If you notice the heading:
Contribution Fund 301 love offering
Go to Contributions / Setup / Maintain List of Contribution Funds / Add
Give the fund a number (301 in my example) and set the accounts as shown below (or with your own account numbers)
DB 01-1110-000 checking
CR 01-4231-000 love offering
Then, go to Contributions / Enter Contributions
Set the date and click ok
You have to input the envelope number, the (Contribution) Fund number, and the amount.
This is where you enter multiple checks. Each one is assigned to an envelope number (a person), a Fund Number (301, in my example) and the amount.
Hope that helps.

A suggestion.
It sounds like the former secretary just threw this at you, and wanted to get out of there. I would definitely take the time to:
1. Look for the Powerchurch Manual. There is a lot of good information there that can assist you when using the system.
2. Have your church pay for some online Powerchurch training. It is very good, and well worth the time and cost. The latest course offerings are located here:
