I have attempted to install verison 9.0 on my computer. The installation takes places however the data from in 8.5 does not convert. I have not seen the statement convert other data. I would like to take advantage of the feature in the system by converting the data for 2004 into verison 9.

I thought I would have to modify some data not enter everything over.
What am I doing wrong ?

You don't get the option to convert data during the install. You get it during the first run of a new installation. You are prompted with "Do you have an existing version to upgrade?" you would want to select "yes." If you select "no," blank data files will be created.

To be able to reconvert, you can go into the new pcplus9\data directory and delete all 140-something files there. Then, the next time you run v9, it will give you the option to convert again.

This is Not Correct

:(

This is correct. I am having the same trouble. I don't have any such files named 140-? I search my entire computer and they don't exist. Can anyone help me...

I'm sorry, I guess I should have been less vague. You're not looking for a file *named* "140-*," you're deleting about that many files.

Actually, the only files necessary to delete are the 4 files in the v9 data directory called pcinfo.*. These are:

pcinfo.cdx
pcinfo.dbf
pcinfo.fpt
pcinfo.pca

Delete these 4 files, and that will retrip the conversion.

Well, if you do that, you'll also delete the pictures directory. That will cause some errors, as I discovered the hard way.
