Dual Processing - Verison 8.5 and 9.0

Post by TBM »

In v8.5 we have several Fund/Bank accounts with separate chart of accounts. I have read that in v9.0 that accounts numbers that are used in several fund will be consolidated. My question is related to being able to take full advantage of V9 multiple years of data feature. Is it advisable to continue to enter transaction into V8.5 while I clean up the accounts identified in the conversion to V9.0 ? Then I would reconvert to 9.0.

Please advise

You could really do either, though it might be easier to convert to v9 and use the new Move Account function. We have a couple of resources that will explain the use of this new feature.

First, there is a document called "Missing Accounts After Converting" located here:

Also, we have an online tutorial called "Move or Combine Accounts" located here:

The viewlets are our newest support resource, and are just coming online. There hasn't been a lot of fanfare for these yet, because I'm not finished getting them set up. They are basically short flash animations which explain a single function in PowerChurch. Many of them are available online already, and will show up during a search when appropriate. More will be available soon. Most of the viewlets that are going to be initially available were included on your PowerChurch Plus v9 CD. From the launch screen, select "Support and Other Resources" and "Tutorials (Viewlets)."

Currently, all the viewlets are kind of v9-centric. We hope to have more comprehensive viewlets in the future.

Of course, you will need the flash plugin ( http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer ) to view the tutorials in your browser. That's not necessary with the viewlets on the CD.
