E-mailing
When we e-mail a group in Activities and Skills it uses the e-mail account set up in PC which is right. But then when we want to send a single e-mail or from anywhere else it defaults to Outlook and this is not set up. Is there a way to have all e-mails come from where we set in set up?? I do not know if that makes sense or not???? Thanks - Elida
Re: E-mailing
That is the way the program works, for single emails it will link to Outlook and will not use the bulk mail routines in the program. Right now there is no way to change that to any other email program.
If you're using a browser based email system for normal day to day email, you'll need to setup Outlook for single email use using the data you setup the email routines in Powerchurch.
If you're using another email program like Thunderbird, it won't work with Powerchurch directly. The only way to send a single email using TB is copy and paste the email address from Powerchurch to TB.

Re: E-mailing
Actually, you can send just one email from PowerChurch using the email feature in PowerChurch and not Outlook, by using the ‘Tag’ feature. Go to Membership > Personal Profiles > Quick Tag Records and click the ‘Clear All’ button (assuming you are NOT using the Tag option to permanently tag records). Then, locate the profile or profiles you want to send an email message to and click the check box beside each profile name and close that screen (also assuming the profile(s) have a valid email address entered in Maintain Personal Profiles and ‘Include in bulk mailings’ is checked). Then go to Membership > Personal Profiles >Send E-mail Message to a Group. On that screen, select ‘Tagged’ at the top right-hand corner of the screen and click OK. This will start the email process so that you can send a message to the profile(s) you just tagged. You can also attach a file to the message if you need/want to.
Hope this helps.

Kludgy ... I haven't tried it, but the logic thread certainly appears to allow it to work.Zara wrote:Actually, you can send just one email from PowerChurch using the email feature in PowerChurch and not Outlook, by using the ‘Tag’ feature. Re: E-mailing
I have sent single offering statements with no problem and I am using Thunderbird. Does the contribution statement routine use the PC process even for single statements?

Re: E-mailing
Just tested it. It looks like it does do that for emailed reports. I'm guessing its much easier to create a report then send it as an attachment using the internal module.tborgal wrote:I have sent single offering statements with no problem and I am using Thunderbird.
