Maintenance releases ???

Is there anywhere that we can find out what is in the current maintenance release? I just downloaded the newest one for v9 and then was reading one of the questions in the forum and the last response was something about waiting for the next MR or maybe it will make it to a future MR. Just wondering how we might know if something that we are hoping will make a MR actually does! Thanks!

If you're signed up to get a notice of the MR's release, that notice will let you know what is in the release.

However, it would be a public service to have an admin only posting topic that contains a copy of the release notice for those not signed up for the email notices.

The Announcements section of this forum would be a great place to do that!

I had a thread once that announced a particularly important maintenance release, but I'll just use that to add each of the MR specs when they're released. I'll see if I can dredge up the older release announcements too.

Well don't I feel silly!! I get the notices and only went as far down as the link to get the update. I just assumed that the rest was stuff repeated over and over again (like the $15 CD etc.) so never paid any attention! Thanks for the heads up!

Zaphod,

What about starting a category called "Maintenance Release?"

That would clue the reading public even more. I'd make it write-able for admin only.

I was going to just create topics under the Announcements board for each version as we release an MR. Currently, I only have the info for v9, but I'm sure we'll have another 8 and 8.5 MR at some point. I'll just add to the existing topic, so that'll make it a little easier to see the progression since MRs are cumulative.

I'm pretty sure that board is admin-only, and the whole point of that category is to provide this type of information.

Thanks so much for the new Maintenance Release topic in Announcements. That is great and I am sure many people will appreciate having that to check on.
