Starting mid-year from other software

Got a question or comment about PowerChurch that doesn't belong anywhere else? Why not post it here!?

Starting mid-year from other software

Post by hudsonumc »

I am in the process of converting a church from ACS to PowerChurch. Has anyone ever started mid-year and how did you put the contributions to date in the new system? I am trying to prevent from mailing out statements from both systems.
Thanks

My advice ... have Powerchurch do a conversion of the data. Not sure what the cost is, but depending on the number of members and contributors you have, its a time saver. In this manner your old data will be converted from the ACS format to the Powerchurch, and you won't have to reenter everything !!

Otherwise it will be a long arduous process. Unless you just wait until the start of 2013 to begin using the Membership & Contributions in Powerchurch.

Great move!!! We made the switch about 5 years back and I have never been so grateful! (We made the switch at the beginning of a new year, so I can't offer any tips regarding a mid-year switch....)

Wishing you the best,
Eden
*Still* learning... and gratefully so!
