Email Send Setup - SSL authentication

Our ISP is going to require SSL authentication for outgoing email soon. Just at the time I was considering to start using PowerChurch's email send feature.

PowerChurch needs the capability of sending SSL encrypted email.

What may some other solutions be?

Is there a SMTP server available somewhere that PowerChurch can send it's outgoing mail through? Perhaps PowerChurch Inc could run a server for that purpose. It could even be set up to accept only mail from PowerChurch program.

Another suggestion....
Maybe PowerChurch software could be designed with an option to feed into the default email client (Outlook, Eudora, etc). When email is sent, it could open a new message, insert all of the email addresses and then the user can send the email through the normal email methods.

Are you sure the ISP is going to use SSL authentication, not just normal email account and password authentication ?? If so, that's fairly uncommon for regular ISPs, normally I've seen it used for business servers.

Yes, they are definitely planning on using SSL authentication for sending mail. They already switched to SSL authenticaiton for receiving mail. They don't want passwords to be sent in plain text. Using authentication for send mail without SSL, passwords are sent in plain text. At the present time, no authentication is required.

Currently there is not an availablity to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) in PowerChurch Plus. However, the means are available. We are beginning to look at the extent of what will need to be changed, and what could be affected by these changes. When a decision has been made we'll get back to you here.
