Network problem

Post by swm »

We have a network of several computers all connected to one main computer where PowerChurch is located. Before the upgrade to version 9, we were able to make entries in the address section and add account numbers etc.....and these changes would show up on any and all of the computers. Now, after the upgrade to version 9, we have found out that any entries on any computer other than the main computer where PowerChurch is actually on do not show up on any computer except the one the entries were made on. This is NOT good. Why is this? This means we have lost all kinds of information.

A few questions:

1. When you did the install, did you install PC+ on a sharable drive of the server (main computer)?

2. After the install, did you run netsetup9 on each of the client PCs? If not, then they are still pointing to the old data.

3. You did a full backup of all your data prior to the install, right?

It sounds like although you installed v9 on the server, you haven't actually set up the workstations to use the new version. v9 installs into its own discreet location by default, so you will generally have to share/map the PowerChurch directory and run the netsetup9.exe through that mapped drive on each workstation.
