"Index Does Not Match Table" Error

Post by svrandazzo »

I'm getting this error ("Index does not match table") and PowerChurch tells me to "Delete the Index File and re-create the index".
Questions is what is the name of the index file for Attendance or Membership.
Also, once I've deleted the file, do I re-create it by simply running the re-index program under Utilities.
FYI - I'm running version 8.5 on a network with about 5 pc's hooked up to PowerChurch. :?
Thanks for your help.

This may be a dumb question, but have you tried to run a Reindex before doing anything else ??

Sorry, I should have noted that in the original message. I did run the re-index from 2 differant PC's on the networe. No Help. Would it help if I ran the re-index program directly from the server?

Actually, the process for fixing this error is pretty easy, but it can get fairly involved. You'd be better served calling in and having a tech walk you through the process. Basically, we go into the database manager and find the appropriate file. We delete the index and recreate it in the database manager. Then, a reindex should take care of the rest. This may sound simple, but finding the bad file is kind of an educated crap shoot. If you're getting this in Attendance, it could potentially be one of about 8 or 9 files.

So yeah, give us a call.
