Version 7

Post by Joe O »

Does anyone still use version 7? Which OS's will it run on? I have computers running Windows 98, XP, Vista and 7 that I can use to run it. If I need Windows 95 I may even be able to dig up one of those as well.
Why?
Because I have backup files from version 7 that I need to access.
Have PC version 7 files, but when I try to run it, it gives me an out of memory message. Is there a VB or Foxpro run time that I need to install?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Version 7 will only install and run on a computer with less than 768MB of RAM, so that pretty much excludes Vista and anything newer. That "insufficient memory" message indicates there is too much RAM on that system.

There is a program called Setup.exe in the program directory (by default C:\PCPLUS7\) that will install everything you need, once you get it moved to a computer with less RAM.

Thank you. Now I have to find a machine with only that amount of memory on it :). I have a 1GB machine, that I will try to remove 1 stick from. I'll let you know what happens.
