Converting from v7 to v9 and data will not restore

Post by jaabra »

:? I have v7 loaded on my Windows XP system. I just loaded v9 and tried to restore the data from the A: drive. When doing so, I get a message stating:
"This backup contains files from version 7 and cannot be restored to this version of PowerChurch Plus."

The only thing I use PC9 for at this time is tracking contributions, producing statements and generating adhoc reports.

Please help.

You cannot restore a backup copy of data from an earlier version of Powerchurch to a newer version. There are usually database changes that do not allow this to happen.

If you must restore a previous backup, you can only restore it to the version it was originally created on.

I usually keep a previous version of Powerchurch available to access old data which was deleted from the system prior to an upgrade.
