Hi - this is my first time posting. Our church has used Powerchurch for about 7 years now, and mostly it's great!
However, I've very recently run into the following problem:
We run PCPlus 9 on our church computer, which has Windows 98. As Treasurer, I recently took the program and installed in on my home computer, which runs Windows XP Pro. No problems with installation.
However, each time I restore data from one computer to the other, I have the following error message (and each time it seems to occur at "item 78 of 94", \Data\PREMPL.DBF):
DynaZip UnZIP Error: Error creating output file (Problem extracting file(s)).
When I click "OK" to clear the message, I get a Backup/Restore Files warning which states: Errors Reported. Errors were reported during the restore process. This backup is not usable.
This has happened with every disk I've tried, new and old, and whether I've done a "verify backup" or not. I've decided to "ignore" the message, and so far haven't actually found any errors in the restored data, but obviously I'm not totally comfortable that this is happening.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or know what is going on?

Do you use the Payroll module in the software?
If so, do you get any errors when trying to access the Maintain List of Employees screen?
It sounds like you have a corrupted data file that keeps getting backed up and passed back and forth between the two computers.
This is certainly something we can try to help with if you call in to speak to someone in Technical Support.

I do have all the maint. releases installed.Quick question ... do you have all the maintenance releases installed at both locations ??
Also, when you backup, what type of backup are you performing?
I backup to floppy disk. Accounting data only.
I do use the Payroll module and I just tried the Maintain list of Employees screen and it seemed to work fine.Do you use the Payroll module in the software?

I'm trying to avoid calling Tech Support yet because I don't have a current support contract!

DynaZip Unzip Error
I know this is an old post but I was having the same problem. My error occurred on item 112 of 148. The output file was pcuserlink.dbf.
I was able to avoid the error by restoring at the server (windows XP machine) instead of from a client (windows 2000). I don't the the cause, but this may help narrow down the problem.
