We have been running PowerChurch v7 on our server (Windows Server 2003) with no problems until we tried to upgrade to v9. We then found out that v9 doesn't run on WS2k3 so we unistalled v9 and went back to v7. That's when everything got weird. v7 now tries to call from an old database unless we set permissions on the pcplus folder to only one person and then it calls from the correct database.
Yesterday I upgraded the amount of Ram in our server to 4Gb and now v7 doesn't work (it won't work on a computer with more that 1Gb). So I am now trying to install v7 on a standalone computer so I can upgrade to v9, but when I try to do a backup from the server it backs up the old database.
I am trying to find out where the correct database is located/called from but have been having no luck. If anyone has run into this problem or can tell me where the correct database might be... it would help get rid of this sudden headache.

FWIW ... I was running Powerchurch version 9 on Windows Server 2003 without a problem. The main thing was making sure that the Powerchurch directory was setup with FULL permissions to everyone, and then let Powerchurch take care of the internal permissions.
I'm not sure who told you that it doesn't work with WS2003, but here is the list of compatible OSs: http://www.powerchurch.com/support/answ ... icle_id=42
First off, did you do a backup of your version 7 data prior to upgrading to version 9 ??
Second, did you install Powerchurch 9 in the same directory as version 7 ??
Third, the normal data location is in the DATA directory off the main Powerchurch directory.
For example, I have two versions of Powerchurch installed on my test machine at home: The directory structure is as follows:
d:\Powerchurch
PCPLUS9
Data
(other directories)
PCPLUS10
Data
(other directories)
The v9 executable has no idea that v10 data exists and vice versa.
Hope this helps.
