Selective Backup / Restore

Post by gre4 »

Powerchurch 8.5, w/ latest MR

I need to setup a duplicate PCPlus w/ all of the same items, funds, accounts, members etc, but no actual data (no contributions, checks, etc.)

Is a selective backup / restore the best way to accomplish this task? If so which items do I select (or unselect).

Thanks

A selected restore would work fine. It would probably be better for you to list what specific information you are trying to keep and we can try and match up a list of files you need to restore.

The other alternative would be to restore the whole backup and then delete old data under the modules you don't want data.

O.K., specifically: family mailing list & personal profiles (w/ envelope numbers), chart of accounts, contribution funds. (there may be a few others, but I am not to that point yet.)

We are starting a 'sister organization' and want to utilize the exact same setup along with the same people (and their envelope #'s).

thanks for the help!
