I recently updated a bunch of data on an 8.0 version and then backed it up to my 8.5 version. (I actually put the 8.5 data on the 8.0 version, made updates and then backed it up to the 8.5 version.)I didn't realize that I was working off of two versions until it was too late. The 8.0 version keeps crashing and doesn't seem to work correctly now, but the 8.5 appears to be working fine. I have a backup from the 8.5 before I put the older version on it, but I really don't want to have to redo all of the data entry. Is it safe? or should I go ahead and replace my database with the old, correct version of data before it crashes and I start to have problems?
Thanks for the help!
Valerie

Yes, I used the backup restore feature. I restored the 8.5 on to the 8.0 version, made changed, backed it up, and then restored it on to the 8.5 version. I can't remember what the error messages on the 8.0 were. I couldn't get it to move around in a contribution statement report without crashing.Zaphod wrote:Was this done through the PowerChurch Backup/Restore feature? You shouldn't be able to make a backup in one version and restore it in another.
Details of any error messages your getting when v8 crashes would be helpful in determining exactly what's going on.
Thanks!

You shouldn't be able to restore 8.5 data into 8 and vice-versa. See this post:
