Backup to drive other than A or B

Post by fspadmin »

Is it possible, using Version 7 and Windows ME, to back up to a drive other than A or B?

We have the ability to save to either a CD-RW, Zip disk, or jump drive but since we re-installed our version 7 onto a newer computer that has Windows ME, we have not been able to get the backup function to work.

I'm assuming based on your post that prior to the reinstallation you were able to save to drives other than the standard floppy locations. Did you install the last applicable Maintenance Release for version 7, which would be dated: 01/02/2003 ??

Version 7 only had a provision to back up to either A or B (supposedly, floppy drives). More backup options, including CD, Network drive, USB key (some work better than others), and Zip drive are available in v9.

Some version 7 users would map a network drive named "B" and they were able to backup to that on the server. But you didn't hear that from me.
