I am setting up a new Powerchurch database to redo the accounting codes into 2 new funds and I need to restore membership db files from
the existing database.

You should be able to do a backup of the membership and contributions files, then do a restore, but then you'll have to verify the contribution funds are pointing to any new funds that you setup.
