All Day Events

Post by CSTrinity »

I was curious about how to do any all-day event. I see no check-box or anything for an all-day event, so should I just schedule it for 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM?

Basically, yes!

Or you can do 8am to 5pm, etc.

This has been suggested previously, having an "all day event" check box or something similar.

What is the benefit, or more simply, what would you use it for?

Birthdays? Holidays?

Other non-event related things to be added to the calendar?

One way I would use it is to be able to schedule all day or weekend retreats, something that would need to use a room for two days running without changing the setup, etc.

An event can span multiple days, the starting and ending time of an event can be on different days. This will also reserve the resource so no other events can book it during that time as well.

I was also wondering the same thing. I wanted to put like the church's anniversary. A yearly conference we would attend... Just important days.. like holidays or occasions. Not able to. Also there is no option for a once a year event. So I would have to put it in every year. No check box?

Just use a monthly recurring event and tell it recurs every 12 months.

I would suggest that one of the more useful aspects of an all day event is that they are usually placed in a banner at the top of the day, similar to multiple day events. This is particularly helpful for special days such as holidays, conferences, special church days etc.

I would agree a much needed improvement

I just purchased the upgrade...I see that we can sync with Google. Has the All-Day Check-Box been added?
