Restoring back up from PC V.7 to V.10

Post by cmetech1 »

I am currently trying to restore Power Church version 7 data on a Windows XP machine to version 10. I kept getting a message that said no back up files were found. I was curious if it was even possible to restore version 7 data to version 10? If it is possible, does anyone have any kind of suggestions?

Thanks

It's not possible to restore a version 7 backup into version 10. It's not possible to restore backups from any major release to any other major release, because the data structures are so different.

Give tech support a call, and they can give you information on getting that backup converted to the v10 format. (800) 486-1800.

Quick suggestion would be to install version 7 (if possible) then restore the backup to that version. Then reinstall version 10 and allow it to find the version 7 database to perform the database upgrade.
