A log file should have been created due to the failure. Contact support at 800-486-1800 and we'll assist getting this corrected.
Then again, it could have been a timeout with Google. Trying it again may work correctly.

I am experiencing the same problemm it started on Friday after installing the new maint. release. I tried removing all synched events, restarting Church Plus, restarting my computer. I decided to try again today. Same problem again. I noticed the "remove synched events" is not removing all the events like it used to. Could that be causing the error?

There was an update to the sync tool in the 3/14 release. It was updated to support some fancy looking quotation marks that Word auto corrects them to. I'm not sure how they got into the data since copy/paste from word doesn't bring them into the Event's description.

the double quotation becomes “sample” from "sample"
the single quotation becomes ‘sample’ from 'sample'

This should not have caused a break in the build. Call support, help us get to the bottom of this.

I am getting this error also. Has it been fixed yet?

I attempted to call technical support, but I don't have a service contract.

There is a fix in place for this that will be distributed in the next Maintenance Release.

Also, you aren't charged for Technical Support when the issue is a problem in the program, which this is.

This worked for me while waiting for the update:
1. Restart computer
2. Turn off all programs, email, online backup, etc. Turn on Church Plus
2. Go to preferences and remove all synched events
3. Go to Google calendar and remove any lingering events, I had a couple that didn't remove during step 2, just click on the event and hit delete
4. Turn off Google and with only Church Plus running synch events with Google calendar
The error still shows but my calendar is showing updated.
When I didn't do all these steps I would get events showing up twice or not at all.

Hope this helps, haven't had a chance to call tech support because of the busy season!
Happy Easter all!

Thank you for the replies.

Yes, it is doing it every time I try to sync.

What do I tell customer service when I call with program issues such as this one? I attempted yesterday and couldn't get to technical support. I was told I needed a contract. Is there any reason to contact tech support about this issue? it sound like I need to just wait for the release. When can we expect the next Maintenance Release to be distributed?

Thanks for the work around tip. I will try that.

Blessings,
Shelley

It is always up to the technician you speak with as to whether or not you are charged for the support. You can tell the receptionist when you call that you think it is a problem in the program and they will let you through with the understanding that if it is not a problem in the program that you agree to pay for support.

Now that we know what the problem is and internally have it fixed, there isn't any reason for you to call in.

Thanks again. When might we expect the Maintenance Release with this fix?

Glad to hear it. Just for clarification, the 4/25/2011 MR for Version 11 fixed this issue.
