Backup problems

Post by peabodyumc »

Why do I have to backup two and three times before I finally get a backup. I backup to a CD-RW and take the CD home where I install it on my computer so that I can do the treasurer duties from there plus have it backed to another system. It doesn't matter if I am backing up from home or backing up from the chruch. SEveral times it has shot out the CD with the "no errors backing up" message. After the first time of backing up and getting to the church to find no current back up I now check every time. I usually have to do it twice to get a current back up and one time I even had to erase the whole disk because when I did the first back up that day I had 10 existing BUs. It didn't BU so I didn't again and this time all 10 were gone except one that had been done 2 weeks prior. Three times I tried until finally I erased the CD and then I was finally able to get a BU.

Any ideas why I might be having this problem? I have a new computer running XP and we just installed V9 a few months ago. Thanks!

It sounds like the table of contents is not being correctly closed on the CD. Try a different CD for a week. Also, look at the CD through a burning software.
