Deceased Parishioner

Post by St. John »

When a member of the church passes away; I normally do into pc and tag this person and put in a comment. I also identify the "estate of the late" in front of his name so that when it's time (like now) to print the contribution statements for the year; it shows up like that.

However; what happens when a married man passes away and the wife (spouse) is still a member of the church. Do you give her that same envelope number? Most spouses (widows or widowers) that I have come across; prefer that same number.

Thank you :)

We have always given the same number to both spouses right from the getgo. When one dies I go in and delete the envel number from the deceased profile. Yes, only the survivor's name will appear on the Statement but we've never had an issue come up from that.
Hope that helps.
