Family Report Help

Post by FPCWilliamsburg »

A group within the church would like a directory using selected families. I can see that I can use the QuickTag feature and print a "Selected Records" report. The problem is, this group would like parent and child names listed for each family that would look like this:

Mr. Mark and Mrs. Lori Smith (319) 555-1212
Danny, Cassie, Julia
303 W. 1st Street
Williamsburg, IA 52361

But when I try to run a selected report I only get:

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Smith (319) 555-1212
303 W. 1st Street
Williamsburg, IA 52361

Is there a way to include all family member names in a report with this format?

Thanks,

Lynda Seehusen

There are no standard reports that will give you that information exactly in that way. The alternative is to create a custom report that will pull that data. Here's a quick tutorial that lists how to create a directory, many of these techniques can be used to create what you want:

Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks for letting me know it's not just something I was overlooking. : ) I will have to study more on how to do custom reports; thanks for the link.
