Delete Index Files?

Post by Daze »

When I click on many (but not all) of the "Maintain" options found through the "Membership" drop-down menu, I have begun receiving an error message that says:
"Index does not match the table. Delete the index file and recreate the index."
Consequently, I can no longer perform these maintainence functions.

I think that I know how to *recreate* the index files, but I must know how to identify these files so that I can first *delete* them. So, my main question is: How can I identify the index files that need to be deleted?

Examples of when I get this index file error message are when I click on:
Maintain Membership Files
Maintain Personal Profiles
Maintain List of Attenders
Maintain Event Descriptions
etc., etc.

Have you tried manually forcing a re-index?

You kind of have to know what you're looking for in order to do this. It's advisable that for this error, you call in and have a tech walk you through this. The process involves hitting the tables from the database manager command window, manually deleting the file, then rebuilding the index.

Thank you for the replies, and any more input would be appreciated. I have tried manually forcing a reindex, but the old index files apparently MUST be deleted first. I will look into the phone-in tech support option a bit later when I have more time.
Again, any more information here on what files to delete to satisfy the reindexing problem would be appreciated.

One of the things we'll do when you call in is determine which file or files need to be deleted.

Thanks for your able assistance. After applying the downloaded maintenance release, the printing problem with the one report was magically resolved, as well. With a little luck, no followup may be necessary : )
