Divorce

Post by UULongBeach »

I have a family where there has been a divorce. She is still a member. He is not and has left the area. I changed his status to former member but he still shows up on the statement.

Would I delete his profile? Would this effect the envelope number that is now solely hers?

If you don't want him to show up on statements at all, simply remove the envelope number from his Personal Profile. If the wife still has that envelope number assigned, then she will keep sole credit for the contributions.

To further clean things, you should probably create another family for him, or her. I do wish there was a way to link family by relationships. Parents, children, siblings of separate households. Would make for a great family tree. Would also help our new pastor to learn who's who.

What we do is, when necessary, add this information in the notes. As far as linking who is to whom in a 'extended' family so to speak, that may have to wait until the program is moved off FoxPro down the road a spell ;)
