Giving "units"

Post by Heidilr1 »

Is there a way to track giving "units" - a husband/wife, as 1 unit? We track attendance and contributions by individuals, but we'd like to look at giving units. This would exclude children of members and visitors, but would include members & regular attenders. We want them by units, though, not individuals.

Thank you!

Usually a giving unit in Powerchurch is the envelope. When a husband and wife are both members, they are given the same envelope number, unless they ask for separate envelopes.

For us, if they pledge under both names, they are one giving unit. Even if the husband and wife have separate checking accounts, and one Sunday the husband writes a check, and the next Sunday it comes from the wife, unless they ask, they get one envelope number.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other way in Powerchurch to track giving units as you're describing them.

You could try running the Selected Contributors report. It will allow you to choose a date range, a giving range (.01 to 9,999,999 for example), choose what status' you want and could be sorted by envelope number. It will give you names and phone numbers but lists each unit on one line. It won't count the envelopes for you but you could then save the report to Excel which will give you a record count.
