Hello
If I want to add a file for a member, I use the first and last name to enter it.
I am having problems adding a file for a company. ex "ABC Management Inc." What do you enter as first name and last name? Also, when you print reports, sometimes, there's a comma after the first name which cannot do for a company.
If it's not an option to enter companies, is there a way to have it looked at in the next upgrade?
Thank you

Re: files for companies
Usually, I just try to put everything under the Last Name. It not very common to have a company as a member or contributor, so using this work around may be the easiest way to do it.janehelp wrote:Hello

I tried putting everything in the last name. But it requires something in the first name. I used to put a "." but it's not the right way.
Also, if there isn't anything in the first name, when I want to print labels, it'll leave a space and then print the last name.
Also, sometimes, the name is too long that the last name field is not long enough to put it all there
Is there another way around it?
Thank you

Re: files for companies
I have a few of these and what I do is is to split the name between the First and Last name. It is a little odd to enter it but it works. Example: Last Name: Church First Name: First Baptist.

Well, this doesn't solve the problem of having the name come out as Church, First Baptist in some reports, but at least all of the Church names would appear together, which might be helpful. FWIW, Tom, I've been doing the same as you suggested. Not perfect, but works ok for us.tborgal wrote:I have a few of these and what I do is is to split the name between the First and Last name. Re: files for companies
I have used a different program before and I used the "Inc, ABC Company" format. "Inc" for last name and "ABC Company" for first name. This may be another solution.

Re: files for companies
I am curious, which version are you using? I have been able to add a company name in the last name field without using a first name from version 8 forward? What message is it giving you? Can you explain the steps you used to add?

Re: files for companies
The problem is that the Last Name Field is not long enough for many of the Companies I have entered.
