February 29th Birthday without a Year Produces Invalid Date
We are a new customer to PowerChurch (July 2013), and are using the online version. As we enter our personal profile information, we are using the "9999" option for the birth year since most of our members will give us their birth day and month, but not the year. One young lady's birthday is the 29th of February, but we don't have a year. When we tried the 9999 option for her, we got an Invalid Date message. The system will not allow us to leave this blank, we can't use 9999, and we don't really want to just pick a random year because we'd prefer the information to be accurate if it's in there. Any advice on a work around? Am I missing something? Or, is this a bug?

It may not be a 'bug' just an error in logic. The fix is that along with the "9999" year options, they need to also verify that Feb 29th can be a valid entry under that case.GoodShepLuthChurch wrote:We are a new customer to PowerChurch (July 2013), and are using the online version. I'd call Powerchurch directly on Monday, they will appreciate the call.
As far as a work around, try using Feb 28th for the time being

Thank you very much.
To follow-up, I called the PowerChurch tech support. They advised us to use 9996 as the birth year. It produces the same effect as the 9999, but works for the Feb 29th date.

Apparently, year 9996 will be a leap year. All that field is doing is verifying that the date you enter is valid. For years that don't have a Feb 29th, it's not a valid date.
