Can I run an report by Occupation?

Post by office@hopelutheranelca.org »

In Personal Profiles there is a line for Occupation. Can I run a report showing only the persons name and occupation? This would be very helpful in finding volunteers for projects with special needs. Thanks

Since this is a Free Text line, you would have to be very precise when entering this data. That is, use the same words for the occupation.

For example, if someone has the occupation of Nurse, you would have to enter Nurse in the Occupation text box each time. If someone else enters RN or LPN its not the same.

The reason for that is that you'd have to create a custom report to pull the data for a report, and then that custom report would have to be setup to use either the one term "Nurse", or all terms used, "Nurse, RN, LPN".

Or, another way would be to use one of the user defined codes on the Notes & Codes tab in Maintain Personal Profiles for tracking member’s occupations. Then, you could run reports in Personal Profiles based on the codes, like the Selected Names, Addresses, Phones report to filter for a certain code or codes. On the Report Options screen, choose any additional info you want on the report, or not if you just need a list of names.
