If I backup membership files on 10/1, and continue to update contribution files until 10/15, what is the effect on contribution files of a membership restore on 10/16/

Specifically, what happens to new member contributions that were made between 10/1 and 10/15?

If you only restore membership, then you lose all the updates you added since 10/01.

If you didn't restore (overlay) the Contributions, then those contributions are still there. As far as I know however, you may need to reassign any contributions for personal profiles added since 10/01 to a new envelope number as I don't believe the system will allow you to reissue their original number as it will be listed as being 'in use'.
