Preferred name on contribution statement

Post by pillarchurch »

How do I get the contribution statement to use the preferred name instead of the given first name?

The report is not setup to use the 'preferred' name, only the Given first name.

If you want, you could ask to have that option added by emailing wishlist@powerchurch.com, with the rationale why your church requires it.

Just a thought...I can see using preferred name as a problem on contribution statements. My 'preferred' name is my middle name. But for tax and other official documentation, I use my first name. I have never tried it, but I feel that documentation of that type would cause an issue with the IRS?

That is the reason we have decided not to use the preferred names on the contribution statements. While they are not official tax forms, our thinking is that the names on the contribution statements should match the names people use to file their taxes.

Do you have a reason for wanting preferred names on the contribution statements?
