Creating a Directory which include only select children

Post by daviddrake »

In creating a church directory, we would like to include children. However, children end up being included who are from families we don't want included (ie. visitors). How does one get around this?
We are using version 10.4.

Evidently you may have the visitor children using the same personal profile code as the member kids. The fix, change the visitor children to list as visitors.

I take it you're creating the directory from scratch, and not using the built in report.

Thank you Neil.
I'm creating the directory from the Reports-Family Mailing List and then 'church directory'.
I think you're correct - that's the best the best way of dealing with this. Changing the visitor's children to visitors.

That's what it has to be then, as the standard reports allows you to filter out the personal status codes, but if the kids have the same codes as the member kids, then I suspect they all get pulled.

Version 11.55 added the option to filter by Mailing Category as well as Personal Status. You may be able to filter out the visitor families this way.

You will probably want to change the status of the children so that you can filter in other areas by just the personal status code.
