Background checks for Volunteers

Post by Ada676 »

Curious... how often are you running background checks on your volunteers? Say it's every 2 years, then do you have the volunteer fill out another form okaying the check? Thanks for any info?

Are you talking about the checks done by 'Protect My Ministry' that can be imported into Powerchurch ??

No, we just do the checks through the State of Michigan. Just curious how often they need to be done and whether or not you need signed permission from the volunteer each time we update it.

FWIW ... I believe that those requirements are set by each state, you may want to check your state's child protection regulations. For instance, Pennsylvania has a 60 month decertification requirement.
