MA table, active members with no addresses.

Post by carpy01 »

11/28/23.
I inherited a PCP program at our church.
In the MA table I have 320 records with no addresses.
Many are "active Members".
When I try to create a list from Intergated Table, I get all of these with no addresses.
So list of lebels wastes a bunch of labels.
I tried creating a query in PCP, but I have to query more then one category at a time.
Plus when I try to ran with "no Null' address I still get blank addresses.
I don't know what PCP calls "blank","null, "empty" fields.
I copied the PCP tables to my Access PCP clone and It's a snap.
However I'd like to setup in PCP so secretary can ran.
Thanks for your help.

What version of Powerchurch are you using? Frankly, Powerchurch really expects that 'members' would have an address attached to their Mailing List Record, it really makes no sense adding a record for a 'member' without a mailing address which is to be used to send them Contribution statements and the like.

Thanks for your response.
We're using version 14.4.
And yes I agree not including address infornation was foolish.
However like I said I inherited this program.
We had three data entry people before me.
Right now the only way I can see is to delete the recods one at a time = will get MA and ME entry deleted at one time.
Is there a way I can export the tables to Access, make corrections (delete records MA table and ME table ?
Then save as a comma delimited and then import back into our active program?
I tried writting a query (custom report in PCP) but can't get it to give me all the records where address is null, blank, empty.
I don't know how PCP uses field with no data.
Thanks for your help.

You can only export to Access, not import from them. There are programmatic edits that would be bypassed otherwise.

The report is actually easy, as you'd be doing a multiple test using the Mailing List Profile, which is what you should create the custom report under it should look like this, the brackets are very important:

((Address Line 1 is an empty field and
Address Line 2 is an empty field) or
City is an empty field and
State is an empty field and
Zip/Postal Code is an empty field) and
Mailing Category exactly matches Active Member
