Attendance Register Form

Post by Shaye »

Is there any way to access this form to make custom changes? In Version 10 maybe? I need to have the names of the parents of children listed next to the children's names on the Sunday School attendance forms. I'm currently using version 9, but hope to upgrade to V.10 soon. It would also be nice to have the ability to enlarge the boxes on the weekly column format of this report, as well, so that the boxes could be divided for parents' initials upon signing children in and out. THANKS!

There is no way of doing this from within the program as this is a standard report and the format is locked. Perhaps in a future update of version 10, but is currently not possible in any version.

Nothing says that you can't create a custom report to to this, but it would take some time and effort to do it from scratch.

Instead of saying we need to change things, why not post what you need to change? There maybe other ways to accomplish the same thing. Or there maybe changes we can make in the program so everyone can benefit.

Here's what I would like.

On the Sunday School Rolls, we would like to place not only members but also prospects (those who have never attended a Sunday School Class ) and lapsed members (those who once attended the Sunday School Class but are no longer). We would like these prospects and lapsed members coded on the roster. We would also like more information on the Attendance Register Form which helps the Roll Keeper better know the status and circumstance of these people. In a Church Management Software program I used at a previous church this is how the Sunday School Rosters looked.

Name --- A months worth of Sunday Dates for Marking ---- Member Code ---- Phone Number ---- Date of last attendance (for the lapsed member) ---- Date of first visit to the church (for the prospects).

Here are the codes we used and displayed in the Monthly Rosters:

Member --- Has attended the Sunday School Class within the last month
Lapsed1 --- Attended the SS class but not so in the last month
Lapsed ----- Attended the SS Class but has not attended the class in the past two months or longer

PROSPECTS
Visitor1 --- Has visited the church for the first time within the last month (but not a Sunday School Class)
Visitor6 --- Has visited the church for the first time in the last six months (but not a Sunday School Class)
Regular Attender --- Attends the church regularly but is not a member of a Sunday School Class

The codes were used as action triggers for how the Sunday School Class provided contacts and care for the person. We would have to manually change the Codes when their status would change based the aging of the dates.

It seems to me the only thing that I can get on the Attendance Register Form at the moment is Names ---- A months worth of Sunday Dates for Marking ---- and Code.

I would be very happy if I could get a more information on the Form.

Possible?

Thanks

You can define a role for a person in an activity. The class register forms will sort and print these class roles on the attendance register forms. The idea being that the teachers would be printed first followed by the class members.

There is also a weekly column format for the attendance register form. It was designed to fit 13 weeks of information on a page, but you can limit it to just one month. When sorting the class by role, it prints the person's role next to their name. Also when sorting by role, you can specify the order the roles should print on the register form.

The closest we can get to your suggestion right now is to use the Weekly Column format, sorting it by activity role. The hardest part for your person taking the attendance is they will need to check multiple places on the register form for the person's name. They might have to look in the Members, Lapsed1, Lapsed, Visitor1, Visitor2, etc, sections to find someone.

I'll take a look to see what it would take to add the actvity role, when not sorting by role. It looks like the weekly column format would be doable, but the others would require a redesign of the layout to accomplish this.
