I am using Vista and Outlook 2003 syncing with Motorola Q. I am using PC+ program date 6/11/2007 over a network, the program is on another computer. I think that is the details needed.
I have not updated my Outlook Contacts since converting to Vista so this may be a Vista issue. I select Update . . ., and check the boxes I want to update and select "finish." The message "ERROR: Unable to communicate with Outlook. No data transfered."
Any ideas?

Re: Update Outlook Contacts
I believe Outlook has to be on the same computer that is running the client (or host) of Powerchurch Plus.brucet7 wrote:I am using Vista and Outlook 2003 syncing with Motorola Q. You didn't say where Outlook is located so I'm not sure if this will help.

Outlook Sync
That is not the case. I did it before the conversion to Vista. PC+ on my secretary's machine and Outlook on my machine. Whatever is going on that is not it.

Again, I must ask. Are you running Powerchurch on the same machine as you have Outlook ?? It is no matter if the 'server' is another machine, are you running Powerchurch as a 'client' on your local machine ?brucet7 wrote:That is not the case. I did it before the conversion to Vista. And it may be a Vista issue, there are additional security 'features' that have been added to Vista that may make it harder to do updates. Especially if you're trying to share a directory across a network. it may depend on the version of Vista you're running ... the 'home basic' system may have less networking features than the 'Premium' or business version.

Sorry, I didn't understand the question. I am running PC+ on the same machine as my Outlook. I have Home Premium as my version of Vista.
Re: Outlook Sync
OK ... I suspect then the problem is a Vista file access issue. Powerchurch should be able to find the directory that Outlook has its database (address book), however Vista is probably not allowing Powerchurch to access that directory due to the added 'security'. Just a speculation, but one I suspect is true.brucet7 wrote:Sorry, I didn't understand the question. I am running PC+ on the same machine as my Outlook. I have Home Premium as my version of Vista.

Update and Final Resolution
I finally fixed the problem. It was not a Vista issue, it was a third party firewall (AlarmZone) which was not allow the communications. I finally figured it out when trying to sync my phone to Outlook and that was not allowed either. Slow, but at least I finally got it. I had to remove Alarm Zone and go to a restore point prior to its installation to get things to work.
