Are users happy with the group emial function? We are contemplating using it, but I'm wishing it were a little easier. We are using Outlook now and it works okay, but want other users to be able to send group email too -- doable with Power Church.
Having lots of skills and activities makes it a bit more difficult to find the skill/activity for the email group. We probably should purge some unused ones.
I find that having to select both beginning range and ending range makes it a little more difficult.
There's a lot of menu clicks to send a group email.
Not knowing the members who are assigned to the skill/activity group without looking at a paper printout or going through the menus to view it makes it difficult. I wish we could just right click on the skill/activity and see or edit the members.
It would be nice to be able to set up specific email groups pre-setup with desired skill numbers and options. Just click on the group and send. PC used to have macros. A macro of some kind could do that.
Since our Secretary will continue to use Outlook anyway for email, I'm considering implementing an Exchange Server so we can have shared contact lists.

We have no problems with it ... we can always pull a report when we need to see what group we are sending emails to.Ronz wrote:Are users happy with the group emial function? I like it and use it often. The only I wish it would do, and maybe it does and I haven't discovered it yet, is let me e-mail a random group of people that I just select. Sometimes there are just people that have no certain connection that I need to e-mail so I do go to Outlook to do it -- it would just be nice to be able to do that here as well!

You can do this through the Send emails to a group function under Personal Profiles. Just tag the people you want to send the email to, go to this function, then select tagged from the selection screen that pops up.peabodyumc wrote:I like it and use it often. Ahh.......I figured there was some way to accomplish this -- I just never thought to research before I needed it and at that time I just wanted to get the e-mail sent. I like printing the reports after sending e-mails so that is why I liked the idea of being able to do them all in PC. Thanks for the info!

e-mail to tagged records
I tagged some records.
I went to e-mail to group on the list.
I cannot find the "TAGGED" option.
Where is it?

Re: e-mail to tagged records
Did you take the Personal Profiles or the Mailing List. The email system expects to find tags on the personal profiles, then when you select Send email to a group from the Personal Profiles menu, you'll be given the selection screen where you can select all TAGGED profiles at the top right of that selection screen.jacloar wrote:I tagged some records.
