Post by bjsbrown65 »

is there a way to disable the contributions tab in personal profile so data entry operators entering information in this module cannot see amounts contributed.

They should not be able to see Contribution data if they only have Data Entry permissions on Contributions. If they have access permissions they will see this data.

I'm not speaking of data entry capability in contributions. When performing data entry in Membership under maintain personal profiles, the contributions tab is available and can be viewed.

If you disable the ability for the data entry person to have access to contributions that tab in personal profiles will be grayed out.

If you have enabled passwords (File -> Preferences -> Passwords) and are signed in as the System Admin, you can add users and give them permissions. Typically you might have someone be a data entry only meaning they can go into Contributions and simply enter data but you can restrict their ability to even see a members name so they would only have an envelope number and amount. Once a person has been added to the user profiles, when you look at the contribution tab under their name (under Passwords to to User profiles to see permissions for that user), you can select data entry only and they will not then be able to go into the personal profile and access the contributions tab. There is not a way to allow someone to enter contributions under a profile in membership without them being able to see history. You can only restrict what they can see if they are entering contributions under Contributions -> Enter contributions.

If the person has access and/or add/change and/or delete permissions in Membership, and they ONLY have data entry permissions for Contributions, they SHOULD NOT be able to see the Contributions tab, other than it being greyed out.

If they are being able to access the Contributions Tab, then they have permissions in Contribution other than data entry.
