Deceased directory number
I have not found a way to have a membership list not show a deceased person shown with their spouse. I have changed personal status changed to deceased, mailing status, deceased date, all fields I can find. I think the problem is the directory sequence it won't show if I drop it below a 3-99, but does show as a (child) then. The field can't be left blank and 0 (zero) doesn't work, what am I missing
Re: Deceased directory number
You're not excluding the personal status of deceased when you do the list.LASTEINKE wrote:I have not found a way to have a membership list not show a deceased person shown with their spouse. Yes I have deleted deceased from the list, only using members, I have them marked deceased on mailing cat, personal
Re: Deceased directory number
Then they should not be showing up in the membership list. Are you using a standard report or is this a custom report?LASTEINKE wrote:Yes I have deleted deceased from the list, only using members, I have them marked deceased on mailing cat, personal

Re: Deceased directory number
If you have a personal status code setup for deceased and have filtered that status code out, then they should not being showing up. One thing to check that I have see before that a duplicate profile has been entered and that is the one that you are seeing on the directory.
Re: Deceased directory number
I just figured it out besides listing the person as deceased, you also need to remove the envelope number, to keep them from showing up on reports.

Re: Deceased directory number
That is correct. There is an article in the Knowledge Base that explains all the different changes that should be made:

Re: Deceased directory number
I am currently having the same issue. I have followed the Knowledge Base steps, but it keeps putting the deceased as a "child" in the Church Directory. How can I remove that?

Re: Deceased directory number
Exclude the "deceased" Personal Status code from the church directory and other reports to exclude them.

Re: Deceased directory number
I don't include any Personal Status codes for our directory.

Re: Deceased directory number
If that is the case, then only people with <NONE> in the Personal Status Code field will be included.kilpatrick wrote:I don't include any Personal Status codes for our directory.

Re: Deceased directory number
I have everyone tagged, so I choose only the tagged families to include. If I choose a personal status code, does that print out on the directory? We don't really want people to know who is a member, non-member, member non-active, etc. That is why I don't choose a personal status code, but if it won't print the codes then that should be fine.
Re: Deceased directory number
One of the settings for the reports asks if you want to put an asterisk next to a personal status code to show who is a member, you can just skip that completely, just delete the text listed in Directory Footnote.kilpatrick wrote:I have everyone tagged, so I choose only the tagged families to include. Tagging every family is really work intensive, and you either leave them tagged all the time and not change them (thus eliminating tagging from being used for anything else), or you have to go through every time to tag the families.
The system works, test it and see

Re: Deceased directory number
The only reason I started tagging people, was because we have people that have donated money for funerals and such, and then they appear in the directory. If we delete them, then the contribution side is effected. Or, we have do have people that attend and give, then stop coming for a year and start coming again. If they get deleted again it affects the contribution. Obviously I am not understanding parts of this.
I just tried to delete the Directory Footnote, but it still shows the deceased as a child.
