How/Why do deceased persons continue to show on reports

Situation: A couple have been long time active members of our church. One spouse dies and is marked Member-Deceased with the date of death noted. Envelope number removed from personal profile. Remaining member remarries and new spouse is entered into family record. In some reports, the living spouse, new spouse, and deceased spouse show up on report. Why?

Do we need to move the deceased person into her own record and separate from the living household/family?

Wow, what a great question!

That sounds like the best way to handle that situation. I guess you could look at it like the living spouse went on to create a new household, and you should do likewise in PowerChurch.
