Email anti spam laws

Post by southwood »

I am wondering if there is a way to save a note/signature line for every email we send through powerchurch like I can with outlook. With the anti spam laws in Canada, there must be a line stating that people can unsubscribe or be removed from our mailing list with a link to easily let them do that.

It would be great if this is possible. I have not tried to export to outlook to send emails. Is this a better option?

The way I look at it ... as a church, if the membership gives an email address, it is a tacit permission to use said address for bulk emails.
Since they have a 'relationship' with the church, at least in the US, emails from the church are not considered SPAM.

When we have people asking to become members, we do ask if they would like to be included in any bulk emails.

If you really need to add something so that they can 'unsubscribe', you can just add a line such as this:

"If you no longer wish to receive updates from YourLocalChurch, please reply to this email and enter the world UNSUBSCRIBE as the subject.".

You will need to include a Reply-To email address if the email address used to send the emails is not the same address as used for your office.

Does this help ?
