Sick Visitations

I'll make this as simple as I think I can. Visitation of the sick is one of our vital ministries and, I suspect, a vital ministry in any church. I have attempted to enter visitations by our deacon and our pastor into PC, v9. However, I noticed that, as of Q2 of 2005, that I could only log visits at the family level. Visitations don't seem to be possible at the individual or profile level. Therefore it is not possible to track a visit to an individualized church member.

Does anyone know of a way to log visits to non-heads of households who are hospitalized or are in convalescent homes?

You're right, the way PowerChurch handles visitations is as if you are visiting the family. Maybe other users have some good tips on how to track these sorts of visits?

You can also send any suggestions to wishlist@powerchurch.com. This goes directly to our head of development.

You could also consider using the ministry services module instead of visitations. Ministry services are at the person level rather than the family level. In addition you can specify a ministry type and location as well.

Thanks for the information and feedback. The ministry services module provides a solid start for us. I have a question regarding the level of access one would have to have to access the Ministry Module. I'll post that in the proper forum.

Ok folks, yall answered my questions very well back in '05. But since our new pastor wants to use his smartphone with Pocket PowerChurch, we can only synch with the visitation module. We are now on version 10 looking at version 11. Does anyone know if the visitation module allows profile-level visits? If not, how has any of you worked around this dilemma? Or maybe you can tell me how to output the address information so that I can import it into my email client. A follow-up question to that one would be how to link the none heads of household to this address mechanically.

Thanks for any response.

Pocket Powerchurch (only available for the old Palm OS and Windows Mobile) will only sync visitations. As of version 11, visitations are still only recorded at the family level and so Pocket PC follows that setup.

That said version 11 adds some additional areas that I'm not sure that Pocket PC has been updated for. I suspect one of the developers may drop in to give more info on this.

Both versions 10 and 11 allow for update of Outlook Contacts, are you using a different email program ??

Not sure if you made a typo here or what. In any case, some clarification on this question would help.

I'm not certain if I shouldn't just start a new topic but I'll start here. We've been using Visitation Module for several years and it's mostly sufficient for our needs. However we would like to choose from a drop down menu of choices which area we visited. Unfortunately the "Visit Area" field isn't available to add to input form. It's only available under the"Custom Codes" area of Visitation.

I've searched and searched for a way to add it to the input form but only the "Location field" is there which requires the deacons to type their choice. Needless to say we can not sure on this field in the report.

Question: How to implement the Area Visit field under the Visitation module?

There is no way to 'add' a field to the form. The Visit Area field is not one that is under Custom Codes in Visitation, nor is the Who Visits, this is located under the Family Mailing List function. This assumes that the Visit Area is static. This information does appear on any Visitation Reports.

Not sure why you would want to duplicate information that is stored elsewhere.
